The Project Management module in SAP Business One enables the user to create, manage, and track multiple projects at any point of time. The user has the option to track the expenses related to the project by linking the project to a financial project code. All the above mentioned features are made possible through the ‘Project’ window in SAP Business One. Let us take a deeper look into the available tabs of Project window: -
General Tab: - In this tab we specify the general information about the project. I.e. Information such as project type, BP code, contact person, sales employee, project name, project number….
Overview Tab: - As the name suggests the user gets an overview of the entire project while using this tab. The information displayed include, summary of the sub-projects, comments box, industry information and the risk level of the project.
Subprojects Tab: - This tab is only visible and functional if the subprojects checkbox in the header area is selected. This is the tab where you create and define your sub projects. Information such as start date, end date, description, planned cost can be entered into the system using this tab.
Stages Tab: - On this tab, you can specify tasks related to individual project stages to build up your project. More than one task can be related to a stage. The Stages tab also allows you to maintain open issues, attachments, documents, work orders, and activities.
Time sheets can also be connected to individual projects capturing the billable hours spent by each employee. Additionally, features like Gantt chart and P&L statement can be projected for individual projects created in the system.
